Patrik Flodin and his stand in co-driver Timo
Alenne won the Championship final, Rally Wales
GB. They totally outclassed the competition and
won with almost six minutes down to Martin Semerad
on second place and with more then twelve minutes
down to Michal Kosciuszko Patrik tock is second
strait silver in P-WRC.
After the finish Martin Semerad was disqualified
in the post event control were they found out
that he was using shock absorbers that did not
conform to the rules in P-WRC. So Patriks time
to second extended to just over 12 minutes down
to Michal Kosciuszko and third Nicolas Fuchs.
Totay has been all about going true the stages
without making any mistakes and hold the lead
that they built up since Friday. They slowed down
the pace but still won tree out of six of todays
stages.
-"It has almost been a bit annoying"
Patrik laugh's "To have great day like this
with super conditions and just running true the
stages without attack, Instead going round for
two days just focus on taking it nice and gentle.
It is really hard to drive and know that just
making one mistake will spoil your chances without
having anyone else to blame. It was much more
fun on friday when we had a real battle going
on with Jarko Nikara".
Patrik and his co-driver Göran Bergsten had
a ruff start on the season but with the great
ending they still finnish second overall.
-"My goal was clear to win the Championship
but with the start of the season that we had I
am more than pleased with a second place"
Patrik says.
The season started in Sweden everything was going
great but they were excluded from the event because
their rims did not conform with the P-WRC specifications:
-"We were running the same rims as last year
and the team missed that the regulations was changed"
Patrik explains.
The next event Rally Portugal was all over a sad
story with a rollover, broken driveshaft and a
faulty gearbox:
-" That event is going to history as one
of my worst events ever" Patrik says.
After that there was a few rallies with decent
results considered the issues occurred. A second
place in Argentina and a third place in Finland.
The end of the season was much better Patrik and
Göran wins in Spain on Tarmac and now today
Patrik and his stand in co-driver Timo secured
another win in the final round here in Wales.
-"It feels so good and is really good for
the self confidence to be able to finish this
horrible season in a great way. Now we will go
home and really start to work with next season"
Patrik ends.
Patrik och Timo won the rally 12;14,7 minutes
before Michal Kosciuszko and 12.46.5 minutes before
Nicolas Fuchs.
