Patrik Flodin is in Wales competing in the final
round of the P-WRC championship a rally that he
leads with two and a half minute after fridays
stages. Since Patriks co-driver Göran Bergsten
unfortunately could not join him this time Patrik
is running this event with Timo Alen co-driving
him in his URT Subaru Impreza.
The co-operation has worked flawless for Patrik
and Timo. It has been a hard battle for the lead
during the day between Jarko Nikara and Patrik.
The two has won four stages each today.
From the beginning Jarko Nikara set the pace ,
but after half of the rally Patrik and Timo took
over the lead. It has been a tremendous battle
for seconds in an extreme high pace. It was really
close up till the last stage were Jarko had to
stop in the stage and leave the second place to
Michal Kosciuszko 2.33.3 minutes behind Patrik.
-" This is a real classic rally Wales GB"
Patrik laughs "The weather is changing all
the time sun, wide open skies with rain and really
really bad fog".
-"I am pleased with what we have done this
far, the co-operation is working fine .We had
a bit of tuning issues with the car in the beginning
but we sorted it out our self during the day".
But Patrik is not completely satisfied:
-I am not pleased with my driving after the sun
set. I don't have a problem with darkness or fog
it is just the combination of the both that doesn't
seem to work. I have been driving like a real
chicken on these stages" he laugh's
Tomorrow all the stages will be run during daylight
and the goal is to stay in the lead and get this
victory.
