Patrik and Göran made a great start in their WRC-mini today. Yesterday they had to retire after only one stage since the waterpump and it ´s drivebelt broke. They made a restart today to try to learn as much as possible from the WRC car and the Tarmac rally.

On the first stage of today they came in eight only 6.7 after Jari-Matti Latvala who won the stage.

They continued to keep a high pace during the morning stages but a puncture on SS10 cost them about four minutes.
-“I am really pleased with the morning stages “ says Patrik “we could not really find the speed in the afternoon but we made some changes to the car that did not turn out well so we will change back for tomorrow.”.

Besides that Patrik is pleased with the day.
-“ I have learnt so much, it is a lot that is different from the car I am used to drive and we are doing a tarmac event as well a surface that I don´t have too much experience in” Patrik laughs” We will sit down tonight and look at the in cams to see what we are doing good and specially what we are doing wrong and try to correct that tomorrow”.

The German event has been turbulent were flat tires has been playing a huge role. Sebastian Loeb was in the lead during the whole day and he and his team mate Sebastian Ogier had about 2 minutes down to Dani Sordo in third position. On the last stage Loeb had a flat tire and lost the lead. Petter Solberg, Kris Meeke and Dennis Kuipers all had flat tires that cost them a lot of time. Jari-Matti Latvala went off the road and had to retire on the second last stage of the rally.

We have five more stages to go tomorrow and the rally will start at 8.13 am Swedish time.
