After some vacation in Sweden Patrik returned a week ago to Russia. The team started the week with two days of training on tarmac to get ready for the P-WRC round in Germany. Then the team moved down to Gukovo in south Russia to do some gravel tests and yesterday recognition for the Russian rally.

The rally is a bit different from what you usually see. The roads are being plowed in the fields just for the rally so it is pure black soil. The Rally goes strait true rivers and river beds without bridges. All this makes the drivers really dependent on the co-drivers notes. Without trees there is not many reference points and in some corners you can cut the roads with many meters but if you do it on the wrong place you will get stuck in mudbanks. And the rivers are sometimes deep so you have to watch the speed you don’t flood your engine, says Patrik. Anyhow this rally should fit the Subaru well the Mitsubishi´s have more power but this rally is not about power it´s about smart driving so we are aiming for victory.
